Nicole Astill

Reporting & Accounting Specialist

Nicole Astill serves as Reporting & Accounting Specialist at Phoenix Capital Solutions, where she supports the firm’s loan operations and portfolio management functions through financial accounting and reporting. Her responsibilities include executing monthly payment waterfalls, calculating fees, reconciling servicer activity, and preparing servicing reports for assigned loans, ensuring funds are accurately tracked, distributed, and reported to sellers and investors.

Nicole brings more than a decade of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience. Prior to joining Phoenix Capital, she served as Director of Finance at Checketts Enterprises in Clearfield, Utah, where she established and managed the accounting infrastructure for 14 different entities. She implemented a centralized management company, developed a unified chart of accounts to consolidate financial reporting, designed a centralized payroll system, implemented an accounts receivable process that reduced past-due receivables by more than 300%, developed an inventory costing system to accurately track cost of goods sold, and oversaw daily intercompany transactions. She also led the financial due diligence for three business closures and the integration of five acquisitions while providing weekly financial reporting and strategic analysis to the CEO.

Previously, Nicole was an Accountant at Emergency Physicians Integrated Care in Salt Lake City, where she managed full-cycle accounts payable and receivable, completed month-end close, prepared quarterly financial statements for the Board of Directors, and developed forecasting and payroll reporting models. Earlier, at Catheter Connections, she managed accounts payable, expense reporting, bank reconciliations, month-end close, and strengthened internal accounting controls.

Nicole began her career in operational finance and management, including positions with Spieker Companies in San Jose, California, where she managed property financial operations, and Marriott Hotel – Utah Gifts in Provo, Utah, where she oversaw accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll distribution, and inventory controls.

She earned a Bachelor of Accountancy, summa cum laude, from Brigham Young University Marriott School of Management, while on a four-year full-tuition academic scholarship and receiving recognition as a Toyota Distinguished Scholar. Her technical expertise includes QuickBooks, Acumatica, advanced Microsoft Excel, and US GAAP.

Nicole’s experience building scalable accounting systems, managing complex multi-entity financial operations, and delivering accurate financial reporting makes her a valuable member of Phoenix Capital’s portfolio accounting team. Her work helps ensure the accuracy, transparency, and reliability of the financial reporting processes that support the firm’s sellers, investors, and institutional partners.
